Howdy there, I’m Riah…
Rye-uh is the pronunciation. It’s also hair spelled backward... my Mom said that wasn't intentional.
I am a self-taught creative currently living in the Wild West of Colorado. Salt Lake City, Utah is where I am originally from and it’s where I began my interest in the visual arts when I was very young. Basically, I never put down the pencil.
Other passions include being in the great outdoors on little adventures, taking bad film photos, cooking up tasty things in the kitchen, and drinking too much sparkling water.

So, what’s in a name?
I’m asked occasionally about the meaning behind Visualaire. It’s a weird name I came up with, but is best described as below:
Visual- of or relating to seeing or sight, -aire; a suffix that forms nouns denoting a person characterized by or occupied with that named by the stem. To put it simply, I think of a person who is rich in visuals, or to be obsessed with the visuals. It is my cornerstone as a designer, and the basis of this budding, little design studio.

Before freelancing, I had the pleasure of working for some awesome organizations. Most of my experience there is in marketing and communications roles, which really shaped my understanding of great communication - both written and visual.
